For some inexplicable reason reason, my wife expresses a preference for me to dress in male mode. She therefore doesn't often choose to accompany me to the Rembrandt on Wednesday evenings. The combination of a wine tasting and my volunteering to drive have however tipped the balance, so we will both be attending the 10th Feb. Joking aside, massive thanks to Vida for volunteering to host a wine tasting. This should go a considerable way towards helping some of the more nervous wives, partners, girlfriends/boyfriends to attend and hopefully feel more at ease.

Relationships with partners is for many, probably one of the most difficult aspects of a Trans lifestyle. For some, sadly it is, or has been an area involving much difficulty & all too often pain or trauma. Hopefully the forthcoming evening, & others to follow, can help our significant others to better understand and appreciate that we are principally a friendly, sociable group and that our partners are not only welcome but encouraged. I further hope the evening can begin to help more partners to better understand/appreciate that they are not alone, that they have an outlet to ask questions, express their fears/concerns & hopefully receive reassurance. For that reason alone, can I ask all members to make a special effort to encourage their partners to join us all on the 10th.

It goes without saying that Wednesday 10th February is not the only partners evening - EVERY Wednesday partners are both welcome & encouraged.

I hope the evening is a great success, Vida and Dawn have discussed this for some time, All credit to them both. Well done volunteering to be nominated driver, Its just such events that need to be considered to encourage friends and partners to get involved and to attend.
Have a great night it will soon be here.
Hazel X.

I might try to persuade my wife to make her first visit to MC for this event, so it would be good to know how many other wives/partners are likely to be attending. Anyone else, apart from those already mentioned?

Hi Sam,

My wife Christine has said that she will be coming along, we'll be starting the evening with a quick meal in Eden (prob about 7pm), then along to the Rem for the wine tasting. I hope that you'll manage to persuade your wife to come along, try tempting her with the offer of food as well, it would be great if you could join myself and Christine (the Tapas at Eden is usually excellent, and the whole sharing thing is a good ice breaker).

Thanks for the response Pauline.
I think 7.00 will be too early for my wife for food at Eden, although you are right, it would be a good ice breaker.
But it's good to know who is going along.

Thanks
Sam

Hi all, I'd like to post a vote of thanks to Vida for her excellent efforts in running the wine tasting last night. I think that all the tasters had a great time, it was both informative and fun. For me, it convinced me that I have some way to go in developing my palate, so I'll just have to persevere with drinking more wine - purely in the interest of self-education of course!
