Copied from elsewhere:-

Details of the next TREC Event - Saturday, 13 February 2010

The next TREC event will take place on Saturday, 13 February 2010, from 11am until 4pm. We meet at the LGF, 3rd floor, Princess House, 105-107 Princess Street, Manchester, M1 6DD.

It's that time again! The team at TREC have put together an interesting programme with lots of opportunities to meet people, build your skills and access services. Here are some of the activities and workshops planned:

Dr Lewis Turner, VP of Press for Change (PFC) is coming to speak to us about the work of PFC, developments in the law and the Single Equalities Bill.

*New* Drama Group

Creative Writing Group

Penny's 'Inner Beauty' Workshop: Finding your own personal style

Film Screening, 'The Tale of Ash'

Sexual Health Clinic, In partnership with Manchester Centre for Sexual Health

Transphobic Hate Crime Reporting Surgery, Sponsored by the Crime and Disorder Unit

Networking Groups: Trans people who identify as lesbian, gay or bisexual; Young people (18-25)

Self-Organised Space (SOS) -- Looking for something that'll suit people like you? This is YOUR opportunity to organise a workshop, networking group or activity that will meet your needs. Just email board@transcentre.org.uk or see one of the TREC team on the day for details. SOS is allotted on a first come, first served basis - so be quick!

*Please note that the SOFFAs group will not be running this month because the organiser is on holiday. However, if interested, SOFFAs can still meet during the time allotted for self-organised space.

You can see more details about the programming on our website: http://www.transcentre.org.uk
Save the dates! Future TREC Meetings: 13 March, 10 April, 8 May, 12 June, 10 July

In response to a question from me as I can't spend the entire period 11:00-16:00 there, Jenny Anne Bishop has kindly provided me with the detailed timetable info. Unfortunately our BBS does not allow the uploading of PDF attachments. Despite converting it to a variety of formats including doc and html, only a somewhat compressed JPG fits the less than 100K limit. If anyone wants a clearer vesion, let me have an email address to which I should forward the PDF.

Melanie

Thanks for that Melanie. I only really want to get along for Lewis's talk so I know what time now.

Wish they could get this on their site though........

Went yesterday and found the experience really worthwhile and thoroughly enjoyed myself to boot.
So if anyone's wondering about going to a future meet - do yourself a favour and go! :)
