Sparkle for me sadly just did not happen this time. When I left home on Thursday evening to go to Manchester I was feeling a little ''under the wearher''. Wiser councell would have said to stay at home but the desire to be there banished common sense. I got to Manchester early on Friday morning, booked into Day's Hotel and spent the next 3 days there in bed, feeling very sick and totally miserable. Monday morning could not come quickly enough for me to get home and visit my gp. I felt very sad not to have met up with some of the many friends that I had met down the years on my many visits to the Village. But there are always other occasions and opppertunities.
On my way past Sackville Gardens early on Friday morning, the only activity happening was a pidgeon scavanging from a bin. Yet within a short period of time, the place would have been a hive of activity. It got me thinking. None of this would happen only for the hard work and dedication of a small group of people. I know that sometimes I'm quick to find fault and critisize, and forget that none of this happpens by magic or wishful thinking. So -''Well done''-- to all involved. June

Dear June - how odd I was staying in the same place (well the cheap part of it !).
Hope you're on the mend now and I was thinking the same thing Sunday afternoon, looking at a
deserted Sackville Gardens, and probably the same pidgeon.
